Had a fun night last night. Had a microburst last night that took down 2 trees, the electric and internet lines. My SkyShed POD-S was Lt. Dan last night saying is that all you got! No leaks, no blown covers. Nothing. It's the real deal! Thanks for a great product!

I love the POD-S! Already had first light and was able to use the observatory last night for a 5 hour capture of the Bubble Nebula in 10 degree weather here in Michigan. Really enjoying the dome! Thank you so much for the design and execution. And for those considering purchasing, I was able to construct the entire thing by myself (at age 65) with the exception of raising the dome (used 7 people for greater ease) and my spouse to place the cement blocks when I raised the dome for attaching the steel runners underneath. The observatory is cozy, blocks the neighbors lights, and blocks the wind - not to mention it is beautiful. Again, I love it!

(On Assembly) Seriously, I had a great time putting the POD-S together...and it looks and functions fantastic!! Take your time and enjoy the process!

I am truly glad I waited for the POD-S. Over the years, I reviewed many options, but nothing quite met my needs. The POD MAX was more than I required, and I had always wished the original POD featured a slotted dome. For years, I made do with 6'x8' tarps taped around poles as a wind blind. That worked reasonably well — until we moved in 2022 to a more exposed location. I often require months to collect enough usable data for a single image, and after the move, the wind was simply too much for the EdgeHD11. As luck would have it, I came across your POD-S announcement shortly afterward — perfect timing. I am grateful for your shipping, as there was no other way for me. Your installation videos were all that I needed for the assembly. I tend to be a perfectionist, so I appreciate your patience as I double-checked some of the details. I am very pleased with how the build turned out. I now look forward to the release of the CRM-114 (control system). In the meantime, I wish you and your team all the best — and clear skies.

Wayne. You have given a great gift to the astronomy community with POD-S. So many of us can now participate in great astrophotography on a regular basis because of your POD-S... What everyone needs is a great observatory and we all know where they can get one.

I can't thank you enough for all of your help guiding me along with this process, and for creating such a great product for us astro nerds! Realizing how busy you are and how full your plate must be you always somehow manage to provide everyone with endless personal attention. That in itself is really special, and I hope we get to meet someday!

I am not particularly handy, and had only one helper, but the dome went together in 3 days and the walls in an afternoon. The assembly videos were an excellent resource. Hoping for clear skies, so I can have first light in the next few days.

I looked at just about every small observatory that is available to the USA. I have a friend that has a SkyShed POD that is almost 20 years old. He had communicated with Wayne Parker (SkyShed Owner) in the past and told me he was an upstanding guy. After reading some horror stories about other brands, I decided to go with a SkyShed POD-S. It arrived exactly as ordered and I followed the detailed assembly video provided by Wayne. It all went together perfectly, and it does not leak when it rains. Furthermore, I assembled it almost entirely by myself and I am 68 years old and had a knee replacement 10 weeks earlier. In my opinion, SkyShed is the absolute best choice when I consider quality, customer communication, and cost.

The POD-S has amazing build quality and incredible stoutness -- nothing in its class of mid-sized observatories comes close. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced, relatively maintenance-free, weatherproof home for your expensive astronomy gear, look no further.
